Jos. Warren Killed by Train Near Crandall
Hamiota, Man. Aug. 27
Jos. Warren and his son Wallace were crossing the C.T.P.
(Grand Trunk Pacific) track south of Crandall this morning when a freight
train struck the auto which they were riding in
andkilled the father, burying him in the wreckage, and
seriously injured his son, who was thrown 40 ft.
He was found by John Rudd and immediately taken to
Hamiota hospital, where his condition was
found to be serious.
Jos. Warren had lost a purse yesterday containing a
large sum of money, and it is supposed that the
two men were watching the road closely for the
missing article, and in this way they did
not notice the train coming. The train crew did not
see the auto coming.
