Florence Nellie Bolton (nee Jackson)

March 8, 1882 - July 18, 1964


The people of Crandall were present in large numbers, at Crandall United Church, on July 18th, for the funeral of Mrs. E. Bolton, a lady who lived a very active life in Crandall, since the early days.

Mrs. Bolton, nee Florence Nellie Jackson was born at Cirencester, Gloustershire, England, on March 8th 1882, and died in the Assiniboine Hospital, Brandon, on July 15th, after a lengthy illness. She was married in England on March 7, 1912, and came to Canada, with her husband, who had already been in this country for two years. They settled in Crandall, where Mr. Bolton had been working, and before long took over the butcher shop, which they carried on until retirement, nearly a century later.

Surviving are her husband, E. Bolton, 258 - 11th St. Brandon, and a sister, and a brother in England. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bowins, the pallbearers being J. Walker, C. Lyng, D. Johnston, S. Doupe, D. Routledge, J. Smythe, and the Honourary Pallbearers were C. Lee. C. Gray, R. Kerr, E. Douglas, and A. Irvine.
