Gilbert Hunter Robinson
aged 83 - September 19th, 1947
Gilbert Hunter Robinson, 83, passed away at his home,
642 14th St. Brandon, on Friday morning, September 19th.
Born at Listowel, Ontario, Mr. Robinson came west as a youth
and settled in the Crandall district. In 1909 he married Lulu Warren
Adams, of Palmerston, Ont , and took up farming in the Palmerston
district, south of Crandall, until retirement in 1940.
His wife and three daughters Mrs. John Ball and Mrs. James Crombie,
Dauphin; Mrs. Earl Grey, Brandon, and one son, Warren, of Brandon,
and five sisters, Mrs L. Currie, and Miss E. Robinson, Brandon;
Mrs.P.S.Warren, Crandall; Mrs. J.Kincaid, Ontario; and
Mrs. W. Eyre, Washington, U.S.A. survive. There are four
grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister predeceased him.
The funeral was held on Monday with the service being held in
the Brockie funeral home, at one p.m. and the pallbearers were
six nephews: Roy and Brodie Currie, Clarence, Frank, Herman and
Mr. Wallace Warren. Burial was in the family plot in Crandall cemetery
the bearers being: Wm. Coburn, Wm. Wal. and H. Hyndman,
D.C. Douglas and R. Reid, (Brandon). Mr. E. Polding of Virden
conducted the services.
There were many floral tributes.
