Helen Johns (nee Davidson)
1892 - August 18, 1949
Although in ill health or some time, the news that Mrs. Johns had dropped
while clearing away breakfast on Thursday, August 18 came as a terrific
shock to all.
Helen Davidson was born in Banff, Scotland, 57 pears ago and came to
Hamiota in 1909. Two years later she married Wilbur Johns and they resided
on their farm five miles north-west of Crandall until last fall when she
took up residence in town. Mr.Johns passed away in September, 1944, and a
daughter, Mamie, March, 1922.
Three sons, Alvin, Winnipeg; Elmer, Shoal Lake; and Lyle, on the home
farm, and one daughter, Mrs. Stan. Lelond, Arrow River. There are seven
grandchildren.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J.M. Wilson in the United church
on the Saturday following. Banked with flowers, the casket was laid to
rest in the Crandall cemetery by T.A. Gray, S. Hanna, M. Little,
J. Gunson, J. Riddell and H. Drake.
