after a brief illness, death came to Herbert Victor Johnston,
beloved husband of Dorothy Johnston of Hamiota.
Herb was born in Port Elmsley, Ontario and moved with his parents at
an early age to Deloraine where he received his education. After

Herb farmed in the Deloraine area until 1948 when he moved his family
to Crandall. There he continued with farming for next 26 years
while at the same time taking an active roll with Crandall Community
orgainizations and with his many friends and neighbours. After havest in
1974, Herb and Dorothy moved to Hamiota, supposedly to retire, but
he did retain a small land base which he continued to work.
As he was still very much interested in the only endeavour from which
he earned his family's livelihood. When his death came, he had already
started to acquire the necessary supplies to plant his 1981 crop.

daughter-in-law, Neil and Noreen of Waterloo, Ontario, son Brian
of Crandall, grandsons, Terry and Chris Wilson and Craig Clare and

Lottie Cassils of Deloraine, Alice Fletcher, Mary Chalmers and Marjorie
Hemsworth of Winnipeg, and brother Arthur of Vancouver, B.C.

Kenneth and Mark, and a sister Ruth.

December 20th, 1980 with Rev. H. Lynas officiating.

close friend and neighbour, Stan Doupe of Crandall.
