Mrs. Lawrence M. Hunkin (nee Margaret Reid) Saturday, August 23rd, 1947. Word was received with regret by the many friends on Saturday that Mrs. L.M. Hunkin bad passed away that day at the home of her daughter in Winnipeg, following an illness. Margaret Reid was born on July 23, 1885, at Glasgow, Scotland, and came to Canada With her family in 1904. Her marriage to Lawrence M. Hunkin took place at Hamiota in 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Hunkin resided on their farm near Crandall, and they and the family earned the esteem of the people of the community. Mr. Hunkin died in 1934. Mrs. Hunkin is survived by five daughters: Mrs. J.H. Edmonds, Vancouver; Mrs. Sam. Wallace, Arrow River; Mrs. S.G. Whillier, Mrs. W.C. Bardwell, and Helen, of Winnipeg; and two sons, Lawrence and Glen of Crandall. Her father, Alex. Reid, and a brother James, reside at Shackleton, Sask. and three sisters Mrs. Fred Cole and Mrs. Neil Munro of Regina. There are five grandchildren. The funeral has been arranged for Wednesday, with the service in Crandall United Church at 2:30 conducted by Rev. J.M. Wilson. |
