Michael John Nykoliation
November 14, 1915 - September 29, 1992
Michael John Nykoliation
of Crandall, Manitoba passed away at the Hamiota District Health Centre,
on Tuesday, September 29, 1992 at the age of 76 years.
Mike was born November 14th, 1915, at Seech, Manitoba and on October 16th,
1938, he married Jennie Dereniwski of Strathclair. Together they farmed
for 4 years at Seech, 3 years at Lavinia, and finaly settling in the
Crandall/Lenore area where they have remained for the past 45 years.
Together they raised 9 children: 7 boys, and 2 girls. Mike loved to
laugh and his sense of humour, his teasing and friendly nature made
home special to all. A proud man and a good man to all who knew him.
"We'll miss you dad. The twinkle in those blue eyes will always be
remembered".
Mike was predeceased by his parents, infant son Frank, step brother
Steve and grandson Jefferey Nykoliation. Michael is survived by his
wife Jennie, sons Leonard and wife Marilyn of Virden, Stanley and wife
Lesley of Lenore, Tony and wife Pat of Crandall, Gerald and wife Wendy
of Crandall, Merv and wife Joanne of Crandall, daughter Phyllis and
husband Ron Kohanchuk of Winnipeg, Marlene Taylor and friend
Gord Vescio of Winnipeg, 27 grandchildren, sisters Ann and husband
Matt Shwaluk of Brandon, Mary Bobier of Duncan, B.C.
The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3rd, 1992 at 10:00 a.m.
from St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shoal Lake. Interment
followed in the parish cemetery. Prayers were said from the church
Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Rt. Rev. Canon John Lehky and
Rev. Deacon Michael Tkachuk officiated.
Pallbearers were Greg, Michael, Allan, and Darren Nykoliation, Richard
and Wayne, Dereniwski. Crossbearer was Ronald Chuhi.
If friends so desire donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung
Association. Rae's Funeral Service of Shoal Lake are in care of
arrangements.
