Mrs. J. McCoubrey

1878 - May 18, 1965

Mrs. Margaret Ann McCoubrey, a long time resident of this district in her 87th year, passed away in her sleep in McCallum's Nursing Home, Brandon, Tuesday May 18th.

Born Margaret Ann Mackie, in Mill of Cairnborrow, Cairney Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1878, she came to Canada in 1903.

In the same year she married John McCoubrey, and resided on the farm near Pope where she remained until 1962 when she entered the McCallum's Nursing Home.

Her husband predeceased her in 1942.

Mrs. McCoubrey was always interested in community welfare and was keen to take care of sick people.

She leaves to mourn, 2 daughters (Nora) Mrs. L. Lipscombe, Pope and (Clara) Mrs. Nixon of Richmond, B. C.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.

Funeral service was held Friday May 21st at 2 p.m. in McConnell Chapel.

Rev. V. Bowins officiated. Interment followed in Scotia Cemetery. Pallbearers were K. Smith, M. Smuttell, J. Lawn, B. Strachan, C. Gray and G. Johnston.
