Pope, Man. Mrs. A.D. Smith, formerly Margaret Jane Angus, died Aug. 27, aged 47. Born in the district, she was married, in June 1922, to Alex Duncan Smith. She was an active member of the W.A. of Scotia United Church and a keen Red Cross Worker. Burial took place Aug. 30 from Scotia Church to Scotia Cemetery, Rev. William Bill oficiating. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. The choir was assisted by members of the Crandall choir. Surving besides her husband, are two sons, Kenneth and Glen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Angus, Hamiota, Man.; four sisters, Mrs. A.B. Strachan, Pope; Mrs. J. Holland, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. A.J. Gray and Mrs. G. Butler, Winnipeg, and a brother, James Angus, on the home farm, all of whom attended the funeral. Pallbearers were William Lorimer, R. Steven, C.L. Anderson, H. Lorimer, Harvey Bray, and Harvey Hyndman. |
