Mrs. William Bell (nee Nellie May Young)
1895? - Sept.? 1936
Mrs. William Bell
A well-beloved and respected lady of Blaris passed away in Hamiota
hospital on Thursday morning in the person of Mrs. Wm. Bell. On the
Monday prior to her death Mrs.Bell underwent an operation and her
death is believed due to shock of the ordeal. She had reached
the age of 41 years, 8 months and 24 days.
Nellie May Young was the eldest daughter of James Younq and the
late Mrs. Young of Crandall and was married to Wm. Bell in
Winnipeg on March 30, 1929.
For a number of years she was an efficient operator in Crandall
telephone office, was deeply interested in church and community
work and on her removal to Blaris district she took up the same
work. Her presence and kindly influence will be sadly missed
where she and her husband have worked for the betterment of
conditions.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, her father and brother who
reside in Crandall, and a sister, Mrs.David Gow of Peace River,
to whom sympathy is extended.
The funeral service was held in Crandall United church on
Saturday afternoon and conducted by Rev.G.A. McMillan and
Rev.J.D. McNair. The church was filled and there was a
profusion of floral tributes, carried by eleven
wreathbearers. The choir sang 'Peace Perfect Peace.'
The pallbearers were Messrs. R. Campbell, E. Douglas,
W. and G.Grey, R. Scott and S. Bell.
