William Miller

An old time resident of the Blaris district passed away at his home
on Saturday last after a long and distressing illness. He was 66 years
and 4 months old.
Mr. Miller came from Pontiac, Michigan, and came to Canada to the
Bradwardine district when he was 17 years of age and then to the Blaris
district where he has lived for 40 years. He went on to the present home
farm 34 years ago. From that time on he took up his duty as a citizen and
did his full share to advance the best interest of his community and
the district at large, and for a number of years was the representative
for his Ward on the Municpal School Board. He was held in great
respect by the folk of his community, and his integrity was never
questioned .
Mr. Miller was married in December 1900 to Rachel Chapman of Harding.
The funeral was held on Monday afternoon, the service at the family
residence and at the graveside at Crandall cemetery was conducted
by Rev. H.I. Bowman. There were many floral tributes. The pallbearers were
R.L. Stevenson, H. Harrison, R. Campbell, W. Grey, D. Sutherland and
D.J. Bell.
Mr Miller is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. E.L. Sunley,
