Wilma Helen Cowling (nee Beattie)
April 19th, 1933 - June 18th, 1970
Mrs. Wilma Helen Cowling Passes
Funeral services were held in Crandall United Church on Saturday,
June 20th, 1970 for Mrs. Wilma Helen Cowling, who suddenly passed
away at Hamiota Hospital, June 18th. She was 37 years of age.
Rev. V. Bowins, assisted by Rev. R. Clark officiated. Interment was in
the Crandall Cemetery. Campbell's Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.
Pallbearers were Stan Doupe, Stan Tukaluke, Allan Preston, Gerald Shier,
John Dnistranski, and Tom Van Buskirk. Ushers were Les Rudd and
Russ Howard. Flower bearers were friends of the three older children,
Linda Rudd, Linda Dnistranski, Scott Doupe, Vince Shier, Glenn Doupe
and Denny Rudd.
Wilma was born at Kamsack, Saskatchewan, April 19th, 1933,
and was raised and received her education at Makaroff, Man. She attended
the University of Manitoba and Teachers College in Winnipeg. She taught
school at Crandall where she met and married William R. Cowling in 1953.
Wilma was a member of the United Church, a Sunday School teacher, and
interested in young people's groups. She was a faithful and cheerful
worker in any Community project and loved by all who knew her.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, and children, Maureen,
Bruce, Arthur, Robert, Laurine, Evelyn and Betty Helen. Her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. W.A.S. Beattie and one brother Douglas of Makaroff, Man.
and sisters, Mrs. Jean Robinson of Dauphin, Mrs. Evelyn Rheaume of
Portage la Prairie and Mrs. Roberta Kasprick of Eden, Man.
