Anthony Rudd
1883 - July 10th, 1967
ANTHONY RUDD PASSES.
Anthony Rudd of 3856 Elmwood St. South Burnaby passed away in his
eighty fourth year on Monday, July 10th, 1967.
He was one of the pioneers of this area and had the honour of being
the first baby registered in the Hamiota Municipality.
He homesteaded with his parents first south of Hamiota and later in
the Crandall district where he farmed until his retiremnt in 1946.
He was a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge for over sixty years.
He married Lucy Cole in 1907 and lived to celebrate their 60th wedding
anniversary last January 16th.
He is survived bÿ his wife Lucy, four sons, Dick of North Surrey;
Cecil of Noranda, Que. Leslie of Crandall; Alvin, Burnaby; one daughter,
Mrs. Evelyn Crandell, Crandall; seventeen grandchildren and six great
grandchildren; one brother, John lives in Vancouver; one son, Whitfield
predeceased him in 1936.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. July 14th
in Collingwood United Church, Vancouver.
Burial was in the family plot at Crandall.
