AMERICAN KESTREL
(Falco sparverius)
Common name - Sparrow Hawk
A small, swallow-like falcon, the only falcon with a rusty
back. Hunts from poles or trees, living on small rodents
and birds. Often observed hovering like a small
helicopter. Has a shrill, sharp "killy killy killy" call.
