RING-NECKED PHEASANT
(Phasiánus cólchicus)
Intorduced into Saskatchewan in the 1900's, this bird has
become a popular upland game bird. The males show
bright plumage, whereas the females are more suitable
for camouflage on the nest. During mating season, the
call of the male is a raucous crowing.
